I am currently a substitute teacher at Princeton High School and interning in their Athletic Department and assisting the Varsity Baseball team in the Spring.
Hello, my name is John Heckman. I am a former Tiffin University Graduate, 2018, with a Bachelor's degree in Government and National Security. What led me to my Master's here at Tiffin was that when I was a freshman, I was redshirted by the baseball team. I still planned on graduating with my class in 2018, so I began to think about post grad options then. I am pursuing a Master's in Sports Management because I feel that there will be a constant need for sports facilities and people who understand how to run them safely and securely. While I am finishing up my Master's, I will be doing a mentorship with Matthew Weber and the Athletic Department here at Princeton as well as being a Varsity Assistant to the baseball team.
Current Goals: My current goals include finishing my Masters while learning how an athletic department is ran. I am also getting my feet wet with coaching as I am the Varsity Assistant Baseball coach. Some of the goals that our team has discussed are returning Princeton athletics back to what they used to be. Future Goals: Start my career out on the right foot by using the information that I gathered from the Master's classes as well as information that my Mentor and I have discussed on how the operation's budget and planning works for a facility with multiple athletic events.
